Too many blogs too little time

Maybe I ought to mention that I now have a blogger blog with the same title at this, how it's going to work out I'm not certain and whether I should just mirror everything, at least that one is always up! For reasons described there there's likely to be more activity!
Apologies for the dreadful pun in the url of the new blog!

Why is everyone blogging about overcoming depression, maybe everyone else reads the same blogs as me and one thought provokes an entry in another blog!

(Non-)Standard compliant sites

If you can't use it either - complain! (http://www.bignoisemusic.com/ is the guilty party)

Kaddish

Bernstein's Kaddish SymphonyThe British novelist Colin Wilson claimed that Bernstein's decision to dedicate the work to the memory of John F. Kennedy was another manifestation of Kennedy's bad luck - 'nothing quite as bad as this overtook him while he was alive',
Jamie Bernsteinon the symphony and her somewhat(!) self indulgent rewriting of the narrative.

Ives

Charles Ives died 50 years ago this week. How Ives Jibes an article celebrating his achievement. A merging together of the commonplace and the totally extraordinary. And so many composers owe much to his insights.
